History of Nizamabad Founded in 1905 with the recognition of the Nizam?s dominion, Nizamabad was a part of the Princely state of Hyderabad and ruled by the Nizam of Hyderabad during the 18th century. The city also derives its name from the Nizam ul Mulk. Nizamabad became a separate district in 1876 following the reorganisation of Hyderabad state. After India?s independence in 1947, Hyderabad was annexed by the Indian Armed forces during Operation Polo, thus finally bringing an end to the reign of the Nizam. Culture of Nizamabad Nizamabad has a population rich in religious and cultural diversity. Both Hindus and Muslims coexist peacefully in the city and celebrate festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali and Eid with equal enthusiasm. Telugu and Urdu are the main languages in Nizamabad. The city also has many forts and museums depicting its rich historical roots and traditions under the Nizams of Hyderabad.

Day 2 Begin your second day by visiting the Neelakateshwara Temple and follow it up with your picks from the many beautiful religious monuments in the city such as the Basar Temple, Sarangpur Temple, and the Kentju Masjid. Next, pay a visit to the 400-year-old Domakonda Fort. The Archaeological and Heritage Museum at Nizamabad is also a good option for history buffs.
