Nalgonda Tourism Nalgonda is a city with deep rooted rich history and equally intriguing cultural heritage. With its roots going back to Paleolithic Age proved by enough evidence excavated from Yeleswaram, Nalgonda also displays the hints of Neolithic culture with further unearthing of sling stones and other such objects. The city derives its name from a combination of two Telugu words 'Nalla' and 'Konda' meaning 'Black Hills'. In fact, today the city of Nalgonda presents a colourful blend of diverse religious cultures and traditions reflecting the beautiful past of the city that was once ruled by several Hindu and Muslim rulers at different points of time. The city is also renowned for its strong political taste which was mainly established under the reign of Mauryas, however it was during the rule of Satavahanas that the trade with Roman Empire commenced. At present this amazing place called Nalgonda is blessed with the footprints left behind by several great kingdoms and dynasties that called this place their home. A mine of Cultural and Natural history Nicknamed so for hosting a seabed of both intriguing pre-historical sites, apart from a deep historic significance, Nalgonda is an important town in the state of Telangana. This town derives its name from two Telugu words, 'Nalla' & 'Konda', meaning 'Black Hills'. From the times of Early Man to the 21st century, there is absolutely nothing in terms of history, that this town cannot boast of. Besides, apart from the historical significance, Nalgonda is also popular for its religious equality, influenced both by Hinduism & Islam.   

One Day Itinerary Day 1 -Reach Nalgonda, preferably by noon and take some rest. In the evening, you can go to the main market for a stroll, where you can buy some souvenirs, especially the silk and leather craft from this town. Day 2 -The 2nd day should be the ideal time for starting your trip through Nalgonda. You should begin ideally with Matapalli, a holy pilgrimage hotspot. Thence, you can proceed towards Nagarjuna Sagar, which is the world's largest masonry dam.Day 3 -This day can be reserved for a visit to the religious sites of Yadagiri Gutta and Nandikonda. If you prefer otherwise, you can visit Bhuvanagiri Fort.

Nov-Febis the best time to visit Nalgonda Nalgonda experiences tropical weather conditions with typical very hot and dry summers. Monsoon receives moderate rainfall while winter season beckons for mild coolness. Although the first half of the day, even during winters, can be a bit warm but cool breeze makes evenings and nights extremely pleasant for an excursion or simply strolling along the streets. Nalgonda in Summer (March - June) This is not exactly the best time to visit Nalgonda, owing to the hot and dry summers. Being an off season, however, this is the best time for budget travellers, who can expect huge discounts at this time.    Nalgonda in Monsoon (July - September) Although the monsoon season receives moderate rainfall, this is a nice time to visit Nalgonda, as the area turns lively, lush green owing to the rainfall. Nalgonda in Winter (October - February) Beginning from October, the winter season is the most advisable time for a visit to Nalgonda.
