During the Vedic period, Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu were said to have visited this place. There are footsteps of Lord Vishnu that are embedded in a stone wall there. Itinerary Day 1 -After reaching Haridwar, go to the Holy River Ganga for a dip. After that enjoy the Desi breakfast and go to Mansa Devi temple. The goddess is very famous as it is believed that she grants wishes. You should also visit Maya Devi temple and Chandi Dev temple. After that, in the evening you should visit Har ki Pauri Ghat. It is very well known holy bank of river Ganga. During sunset every day, Ganga aarti is performed here and you should not miss it.Day 2 -Beginning with another holy dip in river Ganga start your day by visiting the beautiful ashrams in Haridwar. Shanti Kunj Ashram is built in a beautiful garden where many spiritual activities are organised for the purity of souls. From there you can go to Patanjali Yogpeeth for stretching of your body by doing yoga. The trips to ashrams can be life changing for many. Haridwar is known for yoga practice and for finding inner peace.Day 3 -You can explore the adventurous side of yours. Haridwar also hosts activities like trekking, bird watching, river rafting and much more. Rajaji National Park is another major attraction here for having a large population of elephants and tigers. In the evening, you can enjoy the famous aloo puri at Mohanji Puriwale and Kachoris at Kashyap Kachoriwala. The desi cuisine is better than any other place.

Alternately, you can also go during festivals of Ramnavami and Buddha Purnima from March to May. If you are a visitor, the best time for you would be October to February. Weather in Haridwar Loading... Haridwar in Summer (March - June) During summer the days are hot but the nights are cool. Also, during the month of June, there is a festival in Haridwar known as Saavan. Thousands of devotees come here to attend that festival and it results in long jams. So, if you want to attend that festival it is advised to reach early. The temperature ranges 35 - 45 degrees Celcius. Haridwar in Monsoon (July - September) Haridwar receives excessive rainfall during the monsoon seasons, resulting in the shutting down of all the activities. August receives the highest amount of rainfall. Haridwar in Winter (October - February) Haridwar can be visited any time of the year but during winters the water gets really cold and taking a dip can be chilly.
