Events in Agartala Diwali Festival, Tripura Sundari Temple 6th November About 55kms from Agartala, this is considered one of the holiest Hindu shrines in the country. It is believed that Goddess Kali's right leg fell here during Lord Shiva's Natraja Dance. During the Hindu festival of Diwali, a famous mela takes place and more than 2 lakh pilgrims pay obeisance and bathe in the fish-filled tank.
