How to Reach Biksthang
Air:Biksthang sandwiched between Jorethang and Legship, is situated at a distance of 124 km from Bagdogra airport which is the nearest airport. Taxis and cabs are available here to take you to Biksthang.
Rail:The nearest railhead is the New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. Arrangements can be made on prior request by the resorts at Biksthang to offer taxi service from New Jalpaiguri or Bagdogra.
Road:Biksthang is well connected by motorable roads. You can drive from Siliguri through Teesta to reach Melli. Then take a turn towards Jorethang and instead of going towards Darjeeling, drive further to reach Biksthang. You can also reach here via Gangtok, which is at a distance of 119 km.

The Biksthang Experience
The tribe that dominates Pelling is the Limbu community. Apart from them, Pelling has other sub-castes like Khamdhak, Muringla, Tamling, Lingden and Pegha. The people here mostly earn their living by farming. The crops that are grown here include cardamom, maize, paddy, wheat and buckwheat. The whole place rejoices in a festive mood at the onset of the Kanchenjanga Festival that is celebrated once a year. The festival has several fun activities like white-water rafting on the Rangit, Kayaking, promotional trekking, and mountain biking and other adventurous. The traditional Limbu dance uding the Chhab-rung (drum) and other cultural arts are also presented during this festive time.

You must take a trip to the Poison Pokhri or Poison Lake at Rinchenpong. Just opposite to the lake, you will find a stony staircase which leads to the forest trail that will take you to Rinchenpong Monastery, built in 1717. The monastery is the shrine of the idol of Ati Buddha in the position of Yub-Yum. Some other worthy tourist attractions are Lhentse monastery, Rahu Ney (Caves) and Phursachu (Hot Spring).
