The City Of Lakes Known as the 'City of Lakes', Udaipur captures the essence of nature in its most vivid form. The lakes along with the palaces and forts together make a perfect combination of all travellers. With more than 10 lakes in the city, all connected to each other, Lake Pichola remains the number one attraction, closely followed by Udai Sagar Lake. In the proximity of Lake Pichola, lies the infamous Bagore Haveli which wows the tourists with its impeccable glass work. On the banks of the lake lies the architectural wonder, the City Palace of Udaipur.

Itinerary Day 1:Reach Udaipur by morning, freshen up and you can start the tour with Pichola lake while covering Bagore Haveli and Palace of Udaipur together as they lie in the same vicinity. This can be followed by an interesting vintage lunch at Garden hotel. The evening can be spent shopping in the local markets where you get handicrafts and traditional wear. Day 2:Visit Shilpgram which the hub of handicrafts and you can even buy some as souvenirs. Visit Udaivillas, if possible as it has hosted a lot of movie shoots for its grand and luxurious ambience. Go to Doodh Talai in the evening for its beautiful sunset, followed by dinner at the roof top restaurant Ivy View which makes a perfect end to the day. Day 3:You can do a small excursion and visit Eklingji temple, which is around 22 km from the main city. Or you can visit Haldighati, which is around 40 km from the main city of Udaipur. Alternatively, you can spend your day in Udaipur itself and enjoy some relaxing time having good food and drinks in the city itself while enjoying the lake view from any of the cafes out there.

Events in Udaipur Hariyali Amavasya Festival, Fateh Sagar Lake August-September A festival is organised during Amawasya at the Fateh Sagar Lake offering spectactular reflections of the surrounding hills in the water. The roller coasters, ferris wheels and unlimited food and sweet stalls offer a glimpse into Rajasthani culture like no other. Mewar Spring Festival 6th - 8th April The Mewar Spring Festival celebrated in Udaipur is the perfect depiction of Rajasthani Culture. A procession of beautifully attired Rajasthani women carry images of the Goddess Parvati to Lake Pichola. The spectacular ending to the festival is given by a fireworks display.
