Itinerary
Day 1 -Reach Madikeri, preferably by noon, and take some rest. In the evening, you can take a stroll on the city side, particularly the main market area, where you can buy some curios and souvenirs, especially the local spices and coffee for yourself and your family.Day 2 -The next day should be earmarked for a visit to the glorious Madikeri Fort. Thereon, you can seek blessings from the holy Omakareshwar Temple. By the time you come out of Madikeri, you'll be enchanted and mesmerised, without a second thought.

Although Madikeri is not a coastal charm, yet it is a refreshing retreat that can be visited throughout the year. The best time to visit the hill station is in the summers, although monsoons and winters are equally inviting.

Madikeri in Summer (March - June)
This is the most advisable time for a visit to this destination, with the temperatures going not above than 36 degrees Celcius. The days are cool and refreshing, making Madikeri a perfect summer retreat.
Madikeri in Monsoon (July - September)
Although the monsoon season receives moderate to heavy rainfall, this is not exactly the most advisable season for a visit, owing to torrential downpours. It would be better to take a raincoat for some protection. Being an off season, you can expect some heavy discounts, though.

Beginning from October, the winter season is another advisable time for a visit to Madikeri. The months from October - February is a nice time for a visit when the climate is pleasant and the ambience lovely.
