Rishyap is a year round destination with great sights throughout. While in summers, Rishyap offers a pleasant escape from the generous temperatures in the plains, in the winters, its sceneries get an additional hue from the snow that takes over its peaks. Winters though will require you to wear as many layers as possible due to the chilly weather.

Air:Nearest air port is Bagdogra which is well connected to major cities in the country. One can hail a cab or catch state transport bus till Lava. Rishyap is just 4 km uphill from Lava
Rail:Nearest rail head is at New Jalpaiguri which also well connected to Lava by road.
Road:Rishyap is just a two and a half hours ride away from Siliguri. One can either go by taxi or catch a bus from Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus on Hill Cart Road.

Rishyap is best seen on a day trip from Siliguri. Spend an entire day here and head back to Siliguri the next day.

Try to reach by evening in order to witness the real beauty of the village under moon light. Also get up before sunrise and head to open space with your camera to capture the sun rise and a perfect view of the Kanchenjunga peak.
