A Hub of Tea Estates Dooars, a gateway to the whole of Northeast India and Bhutan, is famous for its tea gardens and wildlife sanctuaries. Tourists from all over the world come here just to taste a cup of tea. Widespread tea gardens are a treat to eyes. Some of the famous tea gardens are:Zurrantee Tea Garden-Just 3 hours away from Bagdogra Airport, this garden is centrally located and easily accessible. It provides various exciting activities. You can also walk in the garden or visit the factory where tea is processed. In the nearby Chulsa Club, you can play golf or tennis. In the evening, campfire is arranged along with cultural dance performances by garden workers.Fagu Tea Bungalow-Located near the famous Gorumara National Park, it is hundred-year-old tea bungalow surrounded by endless tea garden and mesmerising views. One Day Itinerary Day 1-Reach Dooars by morning. After having breakfast and freshening up, you can start your day by visiting Chapramari National Park. Since it is located far from Dooars, it will take around 4 hours including the travel time. After lunch, you can visit Gorumara National Park which is close to Chapramari.Day 2-Start your day by visiting Sumsing and Suntalekhola. Make sure to head out early to experience the beauty of nature in morning. Take lunch and visit Mahanada Wildlife Sanctuary.Day 3-If you plan to extend your vacation by one more day and if you are interested in visiting more national parks, you can head out to Buxa Tiger Reserve or Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary.

Restaurants and Local Food in Dooars While most restaurants provide North and South Indian food here, it is best to go with the local delicacies and try the locally popular dishes- momos, dry fish pickle, Bamboo shots, Chinese. During November and December, exclusive tourism festival called Teesta Tea and Tourism fest are celebrated, it is a great time to visit the city as these festivals are real fun to be a part of, there are multiple activities, water sports, cultural events happening. During this time, the West Bengal government, in collaboration with the Indian Railway, run special trains connecting Dooars to Cooch Behar and Siliguri. Weather in Dooars Loading... Dooars in Summer (March - June) In Dooars, the temperature starts rising from March onwards and the summer season lasts until June. The temperature ranges between 21 to 31 degrees Celcius. Dooars does not witness extreme summers. The weather is not so harsh. However, this season is not considered as the best time to visit by tourists. Dooars in Monsoon (July - September) July marks the beginning of monsoon season which lasts till September. Dooars witnesses average rainfall. Also, in this season most of the sanctuaries remain closed. This is also the breeding season for animals. However, to avoid the crowd and to view lush green forests, these months are the best. The greenery and incessant rain make it the most romantic season to visit. Resorts also offer off-season discounts. Dooars in Winter (October - February) Mercury starts dipping from October and winters hit Dooars. This is considered to be the best time to visit the place since rainfall becomes rare and weather remains pleasantly cool. Sometimes, it may come down to ten degrees Celcius.
