Anjaw is a small offbeat town amidst enormous greenery, gleaming waterfalls, beautiful river streams, pine forests and a thousand other spectacular things.
Anjaw is not a much developed tourist destination, but due to its natural surroundings and greenery, it is a place where one can find solitude away from the noise of the cities. Anjaw in Arunanchal Pradesh is a newly born district after its split from the Lohit district in 2004. River Lohit, a tributary of Brahmaputra flows by this city which situated 1296 meters above sea level and is the eastern most district of India; just 20 Km away from the India - China border. People who visit this place not only appreciate the beauty of the nature, weather and ethnicity but also indulge in adventure sports activities

One Day Itinerary
Day
1:Reach Hawai. You can later on head over to the overbridge which is built on river Lohit, and after that, you can spend your time in the fields which have pineapple, oranges, cardamom, etc. In the evening, you can go to Hayuliang which has a beautiful view of the convergence of the two rivers- Lohit and Dalai. Overnight stay at Hayuliang.
Day 2:Early morning enjoys the panoramic view of the sunrise in Hayuliang. You can then head to Chaglogam for adventure sports. Angling and river rafting can be done in Lohit river. In the evening, you should go to Kibithoo. Enjoy shopping in local markets which have beautiful handicrafts made by the tribes residing there.
Restaurants and Local Food in Anjaw
Staple diet of people here is rice with meat or fish or any other leafy vegetable, especially lettuce. Besides these, Momos and Thukpa which is a kind of noodle soup are very common. Apong - beer made from rice is also available in different flavour and is a must try while you are in Anjaw

March to August are the best months to visit Anjaw. The weather in Anjaw is sub tropical which makes it a region to visit anytime during the year. However, it is advised to visit Anjaw during the summers to enjoy the natural beauty of this place.

Anjaw in Summer (March - June)
Summers start from March and continue till June. The maximum temperature goes up to 32 degrees Celcius. Days are warm while the nights are pleasant. This season is a good time to visit Anjaw.
Anjaw in Monsoon (July - September)
Anjaw receives average rainfall during the months of July to September. This time is not ideal to visit Anjaw as frequent rainfall may hinder sightseeing as well as cause problems while travelling.

Winters start to set in from November and continue till February. The weather during this season is chilly. The maximum temperature goes up to 20 degrees Celcius while the minimum ranges around 12 degrees Celcius.
