D. by the British as a gateway to administrative convenience of the greater Abor Hills and the north area in general. Primarily there were settlements of Pasi and Minyong communities who are still living in the villages in and around Pasighat. Pasighat- The oldest town of Heritage Tribes Conventionally known as the "Gateway to Arunachal Pradesh", Pasighat rests amidst the beautiful valley of the state. Pasighat allures tourists from far and wide with its scenic splendour and rich cultural history. The town completed its 100 years of existence in 2011 and still celebrates its divinity in form of prosperous culture and scenic beauty. Fringed in between some picturesque hills, Pasighat takes its pride in possessing gorgeous green river valley at the banks of Brahmaputra river that flows through it. A hanging bridge on Siang River attracts most tourists from North India around the year. A mecca for photographers, Pasighat never fails to attract photo fanatics and adventure seekers in its lap. Apart from the euphoric beauty that this mini hill station basking beside River Siang (Brahmaputra River) possesses, it is home to multiple adventure activities like river rafting and kayaking that tickles the adventure enthusiast in you.

Itinerary Day 1 -Reach Pasighat and check into your hotel and freshen up. Later, you can head over towards the banks of River Siang for white water rafting through rapids of 4 to 5 degrees. Trek through the dense forests of Yinkiong to Komsing of Pasighat.  Sit on the bank of the river, enjoy the ambience and listen to the acoustic sounds of the splashing currents, breeze, and echoes of the wildlife birds of the forest. Take a promenade towards the Yingkiong, Bodak or Siom to find a good spot for fishing and angling. Day 2 -Go for the early morning tour covering the sunrise at the Pangin where River Siom meets River Siang and presents a splendid view to your eyes. You can later head towards the famed Daying Ering Wildlife sanctuary which nests multiple varieties of migratory birds and wildlife animals. This sanctuary turns out to be a delight for photo fanatics to explore the splendour of nature. Once done, begin to head towards the hanging bridge of Pasighat, hanging over River Siang which is made up of cane and bamboo (60-70 meter long) and is amongst the major attractions of Pasighat.

Restaurants and Local Food in Pasighat Eating at the hotels or guesthouses is advisable, as the options for restaurants might be limited. These will serve you popular Indian and Chinese cuisines. You can also try the local cuisines here. A staple local platter in almost any area of this region will consist of rice, fish, meat and vegetables. Momos and Thukpaare also as popular. Some tribes in the area also have prpeparations of pig and rat meat. other than this number of delicious soups and curries prepared with fish are popular.Apang, a local rice beer is also available.

Pasighat in Summer (April- July) The summers in Pasighat are warm and humid. The weather during the months of April, May, June, and July ranges from 19 degrees to 31 degrees Celsius, with August being the hottest and experiencing the most humid month with an average temperature of 28 degrees Celsius and heavy precipitation due to relative humidity. Pasighat in Monsoon (July- September) The tropically humid climate of Pasighat makes the monsoons dense and heavy. Relative humidity is quite high during this season, which lead to heavy lashes of rain in and around Pasighat during the months of July, August, and September. The average precipitation during the monsoons reaches up to 878 mm of rainfall, majorly in the month of July.
