Varsoli beach is a naval base for the Indian army, the base was set up by Sarkhel Kanhoji Aangre, in the 17th century while he was serving as a naval chief in Shivaji?s kingdom. The base is till date used by Indian Navy because of this strategic location.Varsoli village is a satellite village where you can find the variety of indigenous people living on the outskirts of the town bringing together the various cultures.
