One Day Itinerary
Day 1-Reach Tuticorin by morning and check into your hotel. After taking breakfast and freshening up, you can start your trip by visiting Thiruchendur Murugan Temple. It is located close to the main city and hence, the travel time will be less. After this, you can visit St James Church. It will take only half hour to explore the church. Take lunch and then proceed to the Tuticorin Port. The total time including the travel time will be around 2 hours. After this, you can go for shopping and enjoy south delicacies. Do not forget to try the famous macaroons.
Day 2-Start your day by visiting Kalugumalai Temple. Make sure you head there early morning to avoid traffic hassles. It will take around 4 to 5 hours including the travel time. In the evening, you can go to the beach to relax.
Day 3-You can head out to Kalakkad Wildlife Sanctuary where you can also enjoy trekking and other fun activities. This will take around 4 hours or it can vary as per your choice. After having lunch, you can go to the famous Our lady of Snow church.
Day 4-If you are here for one more day, you should visit Sri Vaikuntam temple which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It might take around more than 2 hours including travelling and exploring the temple. Alternatively, you can visit Ettaiyapuram palace. This will also take the same time. In the evening, if you are in a mood, you can go to other beaches in Toothukudi (Tuticorin) district.

Tuticorin has large varieties of authentic South Indian restaurants. In addition, tea and coffee are available in large varieties all over the city. The place is also very famous for bakery items and Macaroons, in particular.

Oct-Maris the best time to visit Tuticorin
An ideal time to be in Tuticorin would be between the months of October and March. Being in the Southern half of India and a beach town, Tuticorin doesn't really have a winter season. The summers get really hot and stuffy and the monsoons bring frequent showers but other than that, nearly the entire year is pleasant and sunny. But if you wish to witness the festival of Our lady of Snows, then you will have to go in August (August 5)

Tuticorin in Summer (April - July)
From April onwards, the summer season starts setting in with the sun shining too brightly making it uncomfortable for tourists to explore the place. This is certainly not the best time to visit Tuticorin as the blistering heat comes in the way of exciting outdoor activities. However, due to the off-season, you can get discounts on accommodation.
Tuticorin in Monsoon (August - October)
Monsoon hits the city by the end of August thus, bringing relief from soaring temperatures. Continuous heavy rainfall makes it difficult to step outside. Though the mercury dips, increasing levels of humidity is a serious hindrance for tourists. It is not advisable to explore the city in these months but, for nature lovers, Tuticorin can be an eye candy during monsoons. They can get a view of picturesque landscapes and natural beauty of the place. Also, if you want to witness the famous Our Lady of Snow festival, you have to visit the city in August.
Tuticorin in Winter (November - March)
From November onwards, the temperature starts falling down and humidity also decreases. Since Tuticorin is a beach town, it does not witness extreme winters. The days are bright with pleasing sunlight while the nights are comparatively cooler. This period is the most favourable time for tourists to enjoy outdoor expeditions. You can go for walks on beaches or enjoy water sports like skiing or swimming.
