About Tuensang Tuensang is the easternmost and the largest district of Nagaland along with Dimapur, Kohima and Mokochung. The district shares its boundary with Myanmar on the eastern side. Set amidst the hills, Tuensang is a place of primitive beauty. It is rich in culture and heritage as several tribes co-exist here. The Changs, Sangtams, Sumi Nagas, etc. are among those tribes which tend to diversify the ethnicity of this place. The rituals performed by these tribes, their folk songs and dances, the colour gorgeous attires which they wear and the vibrant people make this place an exotic destination. Tuensang is also popular for its handicrafts as well as its handlooms, owing to the dexterity of the tribal people here. One Day Itinerary On the first day, one can visit the village of Noklak and Changsangmongko. On the next day, it'll be preferable to visit Longtrok and Tsadang as they are in close proximity to each other.

Restaurants and Local Food in Tuensang No major restaurants or food chains in Tuensang. You might only get your hands on some home cooked food here, and some roadside stalls. Though do not in any case miss out to get your hands on the pork made with kidney beans and fermented soy and beef and buffalo meat, they are specialties of this town.

Mar-Mayis the best time to visit Tuensang The climate in Tuensang is quite temperate during the summers though, during the winters and monsoon the climate is at the extremes. The summers are relatively more pleasant than the winters here because during the winter season the temperature drops to as low as 4 degrees Celcius making travelling almost next to impossible during these months. Tuensang experiences heavy rainfall during the monsoon season which again makes it difficult to traverse the town. Hence, the best time to visit this place would be during the summer. Precipitation in the form of rain is abundant in the area with an average rainfall of 2015mm.
