Kunzum Pass is one of the highest passes across the Kunzum range. It is situated at an altitude of 4551 m. From Lahaul to the Spiti valley, it serves as an entrance pass. Visitors take a round around the temples to seek blessings from the Goddess.
The valley top offers a picturesque landscape with a stunning view of the Chandra Bhaga ranges that surround it on the north sides with snow-capped peaks. You can take an 8 km trek to the Moon Lake.of the Chandratal. It is a crescent-shaped lake situated at an altitude of 4300m. However, it is only accessible from late May to October.

How to Reach Kunzum Pass
The best option to reach the Kunzum pass is to take the local HRTC bus from Manali to Kaza in Spiti Valley. The bus leaves Spiti at 5:00 AM and ordinarily reaches the pass at 2:00 PM. Apart from that, you can hire a private taxi from Manali (costlier but more comfortable). It takes around 5-7 hrs to reach the pass via taxi.

Where to Stay
Kunzum Pass does not have any hotels or lodges to stay. However, homestay is arranged by locals. Other than that you can go toKaza(75 km away) to stay at a hotel.

1. If travelling by bus, reconfirm the running status a day before. Also, reach the station early to grab a good seat as there is no provision for bookings.2. If you are hiring a private taxi, it's better to hire an SUV.3. You might experience altitude sickness. Take applicable precautions.4. Don't miss the spectacular view of Bara-Shigri glacier on the way to the Pass.5. The Pass has no eateries, so it is recommended to stock up on food supplies before the journey.
