History of Vigneshwara Temple
The mythological story behind this temple is a tale of wars and warriors that are carved on the stones of this shrine. According to the legend, Abhinandan, the king of Hemavat Nagar wanted to rule Indra?s kingdom. When Lord Indra heard about him performing the yagya to secure the Indra-pad, he gave birth to a demon named Vighnasur to destroy his ceremony. Not only the demon destroy the ceremony but also the existence of all religious vedics from earth. During all this, Lord Ganesha took the incarnation to fought the demon and made him a prisoner. He pledged his life and swore never to commit any cruelty. He also requested Ganesha to call him by the name of Vighneshwar. Thus, on Bhadrapad Shuddha Chaturthi an idol of Lord Ganesha was placed in Ozar by all gods to tribute to justice over demonisation.
