Nubra Valley Tourism This masterpiece of God's own creation lies on the Silk route, in the paradisiacal ofJammuand Kashmir at a distance of around 140 Km from Leh. In order to enter the Nubra valley, you need to hand over the photocopies of your travel permits to the soldiers in the Khardung la pass, as the region is currently under military supervision because the road further leads to the Siachen base camp which happens to be the highest battlefield in the world. As you proceed with your somewhat bumpy journey, you will come across not just beautiful scenic views but also the highest desert of the world in Hunder, famous for the bactarian camel rides. Bactarian camels are of the rarest sort, having two humps and were the major source of transportation in the silk route. In Diksit, you can buy some lovely Kashmiri or Tibetan artefacts, Pashmina shawls, woollen socks, almonds, apricots, apples and other things that define Kashmir. Literally Heaven on Earth Nubra Valley is a charming region situated in the Leh-Ladakh region of the state of Jammu & Kashmir. Situated 140 km from Leh, this valley is a literal definition of Heaven on Earth. Adorned by beautiful Buddhist monasteries and scenic views, apart from being home to one of the highest deserts in the whole world, Nubra Valley is one place none should dare to miss, especially when touring the Leh Ladakh region. For entering this valley and beyond, you need signed permits from the Indian Army, especially if you're trying to visit the Siachen glacier. 

One Day Itinerary Day 1 -Reach Leh preferably by noon, and take some rest. In the evening, you can take a stroll on the city side, and do some shopping.Day 2 -The next day should be earmarked for a visit to the Nubra Valley, especially the Panamik village, which is the main tourist hotspot here. Thereon, you can proceed to Lachung & Hundur Monasteries, or if you prefer, take a Bactrian Camel Safari ride.

Jun-Sepis the best time to visit Nubra Valley Summer season is the best time for a visit to Nubra Valley, owing to the clear skies and a pleasant climate. The atmosphere in Nubra is lovely at this time as well. Monsoons are avoidable, to say the least, owing to torrential downpours and frequent landslides, coupled by occasional, though disastrous cloudbursts.  Winters is the least advisable time for a visit; you should go only if you're fit enough and love a stroll in the chilly evenings. Weather in Nubra Valley Loading... Nubra Valley in Summer (March - June) This is the best for a visit to this destination, with the temperatures rarely drop below 15 degrees Celcius. The days are hot but pleasant if you're visiting in the months of May & June. This is the best time for trekkers and campers, and hence also becomes the peak season for travelling to Kasol. Nubra Valley in Monsoon (July - September) Although the monsoon season receives moderate to heavy rainfall, this is not exactly the best time to visit Nubra Valley, owing to the frequent downpours and dangerous landslides. Nubra Valley in Winter (October - February) Beginning from October, the winter season is the least advisable time for a visit to Kasol, owing to extremely chilly temperature and inhospitable roads.
