It is a half-day 2.5-3km trek from the base. On your way to the top, you catch glimpses of animals, mostly elephants. As you reach atop you, get a chance to relax below the clear blue skies and be a spectator of exquisite views.

If you are planning a trip to Ranipuram, it is advisable that you choose winters (October - March) for the same. Travelling here during monsoons is not safe as it is subjected to heavy rains. Hence, visiting Ranipuram as soon as the shower ends is ideally the best time.
How to Reach Ranipuram
Air:Nearest Airport to Ranipuram is Mangalore which is 80km from Kasargod. From here, you can hire a taxi to reach Ranipuram. If you are on a shoestring budget, you might take a KSRTC bus which will take you to Kanhangad and further another bus to Ranipuram.
Rail:The nearest Railway station to Ranipuram is Kanhangad which is located at a distance of 55km from the hills. You can to hire a taxi from Kanhangad or opt to travel by a local bus moving towards Panathur Regular buses operate on this route. Panathady is 9 km from the Ranipuram hill. From here, you need to hire a jeep charging INR 200 to reach Ranipuram. Another option is the bus service from Kanhangad. The bus leaves at 4:00 PM and arrives Ranipuram at 6:30 PM.
Road:Jeep services to Ranipuram are readily available from Panathady, which is linked to Kanhangad by frequent bus services.
