The holy shrine of Badrinath temple is situated just 25 km away from Govindghat. Also, the pilgrimage to the revered Sikh shrine of Hemkund Sahib at an elevation of 4600 meters which is covered on foot goes through Govindghat. Thousands of devotees become a part of this journey.

The perfect time to visit Govindghat is the summer and monsoon season. Avoid the winter season as the place becomes inaccessible due to heavy snowfall. The summer season lasts between April and June which are moderately hot along with a cool soothing breeze. The monsoon season falls in the moth of mid-June and lasts till September end. The temperature is pleasant at this time, and you can also go trekking during this time.

Air:Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun is the nearest airport at a distance of 285 km from the town. However, from here, you can easily board buses or taxis to reach Govindghat.
Rail:Rishikesh Railway Station at a distance of 273 km is the nearest railway station to this town. Once you reach the station, you can book a cab from here to reach Govindghat.
Road:Since Govindghat is situated on the National Highway, it is pretty well-connected to the major cities and towns of Uttarakhand. Many buses run between the major cities of Uttarakhand and Govindghat thereby providing better access.
