The Warli Paintings Warli paintings is a form of art which mostly belongs to Adivasis. It originated in Maharashtra and is very famous in Jawhar. In these paintings, only white colour is used which is mixed with rice paste and water. Then, on a red background, some intricate designs are drawn symbolising something. The basic structure remains same which is a circle, square or a triangle. Sometimes, they also depict humans engaging in activities like hunting, dancing or harvesting. Instead of a paint brush, a bamboo stick is used. Earlier, these paintings were done only on walls at the time of special occasions to celebrate. However, when it became famous, people started drawing them on canvas to sell and earn. You will find this style very unique from common paintings. Though these paintings are very simple with mere outlines and figures yet they are stylish and are still in trend. In Jawhar various exhibitions are organised where Warli paintings are sold and attract tourists from all over the world.

Sep-Apris the best time to visit Jawhar Weather in Jawhar is welcoming through out the year. However, tourists avoid visiting the place in summers since the weather can be hot and uncomfortable. The temperature hovers around 30 degrees Celcius. During July to September, rainfall makes Jawhar even more beautiful but, incessant showers restrict outdoor activities.
