Snow :Expect heavy snowfall between thre months of January and March, when the trail is completely covered with snow. It may get diffcult to trek during winters when the snow is soft. It is usually April onwards that the routes get cleared of any traces of snow.

Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrive at Gangotri, Gangotri to Bhoj Kharak
Arrive at Gangotri and rest overnight at hotel for the upcoming adventure the following day. After breakfast, itÕs time to get on your foot and commence the trip by trekking to your first stop, Bhoj Kharak. Te trek begins with a steep ascent just as you leave the camp. After an hour into the climb you will cross the Kedar Gorge to reach your destination. The entire trail goes along the River Kedar Ganga passing through dense cover of fir and bhoj trees. The bark of the later tree was once used as paper for ancient manuscripts in India. As you reach Bhoj Kharak, rest there for the day and set your camps for the night.
Day 2 : Bhoj Kharak to Kedar Kharak
Distance: 5kms
Depart from Bhoj Kharak in the morning and trek along the tree line. About 5 kms away is situated your destination of the day, Kedar Kharak. After traversing the vast meadows with magnificent backdrop of Bhirgupanth Peak, you will finally arrive at the campsite of the day nestled along a gushing stream. Camp here for the night.
Day 3 : Kedar Kharak to Kedartal to Kedar Kharak
The third day of the trek is quite tiring with steep trail through stones and boulders. Try to leave early in the morning in order to return back to campsite in the same day. As you cross the meadows, you will arrive at a trail with rocks, scree & loose boulders. Continue trudging along the path uphill for another 3-4 hours until you reach the famous Kedar Tal. The reflection of Thaleysagar Peak in the pristine lake of Kedar is spellbinding. The splendid sight of sunset on the peak while spreading different hues on the lake is stunning. Stay here for a while and enjoy the sheer beauty of nature. Finally itÕs time to return back to the campsite of Kedar Kharak.
Day 4 : Kedar Kharak to Patangini Dhar to Dabba
Today, you will be ascending the trail for about 1000 m, the route being quite strenuous passing through boulders and screes. Begin your day early to reach the ridge of Patangini on time and trek back to the campsite of Dabba. The last 500 m of the trek towards the pass are tiring yet exhilarating with wonderful views all around. During your trek of the day, you will be able to see a splendid sight of entire Kedar Basin and the surrounding mountain range; however, it will be quite prominent from the pass. If you are lucky enough to have a clear day, you can also see the Odens Col from the pass. The trek down to the campsite of Dabba is a bit slippery, so be careful. Rest here for the night.
Day 5 : Dabba to Gangotri
On your last of the trek, you will be heading down towards Gangotri though series of stops in between. Passing through Rudugaira Nala, next you will cross base of mount Rudugaira with brilliant views of peaks all around. The place is flanked by Rudugaira peak to the South-West, Gangotri I, Gangotri II, Gangotri III to the South and the Jogin I to the South-East. Make sure to begin the day early to return back to Gangotri the same day. The sight of evening prayers at Gangortri temple serves as a soothing act to your senses, dedicated to Goddess Ganga. Transfer to hotel and rest for the night.
