Surajkund International Crafts Mela
Faridabad is also famous for its 15-day annual Surajkund International Crafts Mela. Since its inception in 1987, the Surajkund Mela is widely flocked by art connoisseurs and enthusiasts to witness the colourful traditional craft festival of India. It is organised in the month of February (Feb 1-15) every year. This fair exhibits the great artworks of the artisans from different states of the country. In other words, we can say that the whole country unites in one ground to celebrate its diverse ethnicity and art. You can not only buy these artefacts but can also have a look at how they are created, as some of the artisans work on their masterpieces then and there. There are a lot many things beyond art or artefacts that are to be seen. Cultural programmed, tempting food from all the states of India, camel rides, folk dance and music are a few things to experience
One Day Itinerary
Often visited as an add-on complement to the national capital, Faridabad is a one-day getaway city. If you are visiting the city around February, do visit the Surajkund Craft Mela. Alternatively, you can visit the Iskcon temple and have their delicious prasad. Head towards the Baba Farid's tomb and the Sai Baba Temple. You can also shop at the local market or spend your evening near the Surajkund lake.

There are several food joints which serve luscious north Indian food. You can find out some food stalls serving Rajma chawal, chhole bhature, chhole chawal at a nominal cost and the taste is par brilliance. Faridabad being situated in north India is not limited to only north Indian food. You can easily find restaurants serving Gujrati dishes, Chinese, chaat, continental, Mughlai food and several others

Sep-Dec, Feb-maris the best time to visit Faridabad
It is advisable to visit during monsoon or winters as the lake dries up in summers due to the heat. The Surajkund fair, the main attraction of Faridabad takes place in February. In January the region is really chilly and can be avoided.

Summers are the least preferred time to visit Faridabad due to hot and dry days and soaring mercury levels.

Monsoon months are the second best time visit the city after the first showers and lush green landscape. The lake is filled during monsoon and looks mesmerising.
Faridabad in Winters (October - March)
This is one of the most preferred time to visit Faridabad. You can leave out the chilly months of December-January. October/November and February-March is a good time to visit the place.
