One Day Itinerary A small quite town of Darchula lying in the Pithoragarh district of Uttaranchal is an amazing visit even for one day. With an early morning sunrise view from the banks of beautiful River Kali definitely calls for a wonderful start of the trip. After a hearty breakfast at the hotel followed by a short journey to Chirkila Dam move on to jauljibi to enjoy the tranquillity of the two rivers. Make sure you carry snack during your road trip. Heading on to Narayan Ashram, the entrancing environment there will leave you completely refreshed. Break there for lunch or evening snacks. If you are left with enough time, take a quick stroll at Askot sanctuary and head back to the hotel for a nice warm dinner.

Restaurants and Local Food in Dharchula The food in Uttarakhand is simple, prepared with local ingredients, using herbs and spices which make the food highly energetic. The cooking methods here, are generally elaborate and time-consuming and make use of a generous dash of distinct spices. The cooking often uses charcoal and dishes are completed by a generous use of 'Ghee'. The food is also usually prepared using lentils and pulses.The area fosters both Garhwali and Kumauni cuisines which are though somewhat similar in elements but differ slightly in styles.
