There is a 4WD road which connects Sankri with Taluka. This 12 km road may be covered by hiring a local jeep subject to the condition of the road as this is a landslide prone route often closed in monsoon season. The trail is almost a level-walk going through 10 to 11 mountain bends.Ê Day 3 : ÊTaluka to Osla Distance: 14 km , Duration: 6 to 7 hrs Taluka village is a small village centered on concrete houses which looks totally out of sync with the village architecture seen in the villages of Sankri, Osla, Gangad etc. There is a GMVN Guest house here for accommodation. The dhaba food here is very basic. Those who want to camp at Osla may cross a wooden bridge prior to this bridge to cross to the other side of the mountain left of Supin River and then trek straight along the river till you reach Osla. To reach Seema one has to trek straight up by remaining at the true right of the river all the way till Seema. Day 4 : ÊOsla to Harkidun Distance: 11 km , Duration: 5 to 6 hrs From Seema walk ahead towards a bridge crossing over Supin River and cross to the right side of the valley. From here look for a small cemented bridge some 60 meters above you. There is a small broken trail which goes up and connects to this bridge above. 10 to 15 minutes into the climb you will connect with the level trail coming from Osla village in the left proceeding straight ahead. This is the trail which will lead to Harkidun. The trail from now forth will gradually gain altitude with few steep sections but generally leisure level walks. After 15 minutes into the hike, look for a small stream on the way. After 15 minutes you reach another stream and a wooden bridge. You will pass through a local temple on your right. The trail is extensively used by local villagers to graze their cattle up in the meadows. After bridge crossing you traverse over the mountain bend and now can see a series of meadows in front of you above. After hiking for 15 minutes you will enter into the first of a series of cleared lands. Notice some of the land has been used for cultivation. You now can see the second mountain bend which needs to be crossed. To cross the second bend it will take around 30 minutes of predictable climb -nothing strenious. After crossing this you can see the third bend high above towards your left which needs to be climbed and crossed over.
