Mini Mahabaleshwar
Named so for its relatively cool climate and beautiful ambience, Dapoli is a coastal beauty situated in the state of Maharashtra. Located in the Ratnagiri district, it is a surprisingly beautiful hill station, situated in the coastal Konkan region of the Maharashtrian state. From historic forts to ancient caves, pristine beaches, there is nothing that Dapoli doesn't have. No wonder why this relatively unexplored site is now an emerging tourist hotspot, especially for the weekend destination travellers.
One Day Itinerary
Day 1 -Reach Dapoli preferably by noon, and take some rest. In the evening, you can take a stroll on the city side, particularly Sitlamata Bazar, and do some shopping.Day 2 -The next day should be earmarked for a visit to the Harnai Port. Thereon, you can proceed to Panhalakaji Caves, or if you prefer, go for the Unhavare hot springs.
Restaurants and Local Food in Dapoli
The local cuisine here is that of Malvani food known for it's spicy food of curries and fries.Being close to the Konkan side and Goa, little of Konkani Cuisine has also seeped in, thus you can find konkani styled fresh sea-food and Kokum Juice which is a refreshing drink to have during summers. Solkadhi-rice with fresh sea-food is a famous local meal.

Jun-Sepis the best time to visit Dapoli
Monsoons, falling between the months of June and August, are the best time to visit this place as it comes to life with its lush vegetation and bountiful mountains. For the remaining months of the year, though it is pleasant, it wears a little deserted look.
