Uncommercialized part of Uttarakhand. Well-connected with the main cities. It is not as crowded as other hill stations. Accommodation and restaurants are readily available.

Chamoli has not much to offer in terms of adventure. It doesn't have a lot of monuments or tourist spots to wander at. It can be quite boring for those who are used to the bustling life of the hill stations.

One Day Itinerary
Day 1-Reach Chamoli and rest in your hotel. Freshen up and get ready for your tour. Visit the beautiful hilly town of Gopeshwar. There is the infamous Gopinath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. After local sightseeing, rest at Gopeshwar's Dindayal Park.
Day 2-Visit Chamolanath Temple which is at a distance of 10 km. It is a hill temple with Chamolanath as its primary deity. Spend some time shopping at the local market of Chamoli. Then, pack your bags and get ready to bid farewell to Chamoli.
Restaurants and Local Food in Chamoli
Travellers will find many small eateries, dhabas and restaurant in and around the place. The place is well known for its Kumaoni cuisine which is quite delicious and unique in flavor. The food available is mostly vegetarian especially around the religious places. Pinalu Gutuk is special dish made out of fried rich potatoes and a must try. Bal Mithai is famous sweet dish made of khoya and sugar and blessing for people with sweet tooth.

Nov-Mar, Jul-Augis the best time to visit Chamoli
November-March, July-August are the best months to visit Chamoli. However, this place experiences fantastic weather throughout the year. The summers are pleasant with temperature ranging between about 15 to 30 degrees Celcius. The winters in the area receive snowfalls, the temperature dropping to freezing point. However, the monsoon season experiences excessive rain making the area prone to landslides. If you remain purpose to visit Chamoli is Valley of Flowers, the best time would be July-August.

Chamoli in Summer (April - July)
Summers in Chamoli has clear blue skies and pleasant surroundings. The season of summer starts from April and stretches till July. The temperature ranges from 15 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius. Summers is the peak season for tourists so that Chamoli would be heavily crowded during these months.
Chamoli in Monsoon (August - September)
In August and September, Chamoli experiences frequent showers. The rainfall turns the entire atmosphere fresh and beautiful. As the area becomes prone to landslides during the monsoon, it is advisable to take full precautions before heading towards Chamoli in the rainy season.
Chamoli in Winter (October - February)
During the winters, the temperature of Chamoli falls as low as 0 degree Celsius. During the late winters, the entire region turns into a paradise with a sheet of ice spread over it.
