Chunchi Falls is one of the most popular weekend getaways near Bangalore. The water falls from a height of 100 feet and forms a small natural pool beneath. Best time to visit Chunchi Falls
The best time to visit this fall would be right after the monsoon when there is enough water in the Arkavati River. The months from August to February are the ideal months to visit Chunchi Falls. It is not advisable to visit this spot in summers as most of the water dries out, and the travellers are often disappointed by the scorching heat and a dried up waterfall.
How to Reach Chunchi Falls
Since the public transport is not so readily available here, it is recommended to use your transportation. It takes about 2 to 3 hours to reach this waterfall. The closest railway station to Chunchi Falls is Kanakapura, and the nearest airport is that of Mysore.
If you are coming from Bangalore, it takes about 2.5 hours to reach here. The roads are well maintained except the last 10 km, which are a bit rugged. You have to cross Yeleguri Village after taking the Kanakpura exit to reach the waterfall.

1. Pick up your most comfortable pair of shoes while visiting Chunchi Falls, due to the rocky terrain.2. Carry some snacks and clean drinking water with you as the river water is unfit for drinking.3. Beware of the crocodiles in the water. Also, the area near the waterfall is slippery and hence requires the visitors to be careful.4. Staying till late here may result in some accidents.5. There are a few small shops near the parking area, from where you can fuel yourself.
