The three peaks that together form Trishul Peak resembles the shape of Trishula as called in Hindi/Sanskrit language. It is known to be the weapon of Shiva. The Trishul group, encloses the Nanda Devi Sanctuary like a ring. (br)The main peak, Trisul I, was the first peak with the elevation of 7,000 m to have ever been climbed by someone.
Climate of the place
During the rainy season in March & April, the weather becomes very cold due to heavy snow fall in the valley . In spring also, it remains very cold. The temperature falls occasionally. In the months of September, October and November, the climate is pleasant and very clear. The first snow occurs generally in November-December.
History of the place
The history of Kullu traces 2000 years back . The word â??Kulluâ?? is derived from the word â??Kulutaâ?? . From the first century, Archaeologists found 'Kuluta' word inscribed on a coin . Virayasa was the first king whose name was there on that coin as â??Virayasa, King of Kuluta '. Trishul peak includes three mountain peaks that are in the shape of a trident.

Tips
Jeep Safaris are available and mini bus trips to Leh is possible. Be careful while venturing around rivers and streams as the water level may rise any time during rains. Please do carry full body rain coats to protect yourself. The visitors are advised to bring light woolen cloths with them as its very cold during winters. But if you are wishing to visit Rohtang or high altitude regions then you need to carry heavy woolen clothes.
