
Bhangarh at night
No one is allowed to enter the fort after sunset or before sunrise. There are many local tales about the paranormal activities in the fort. It totally depends on a person whether he would believe it or not. It is said that the spirits roam in Bhangarh fort at night and various strange noises are heard. Also as it is said, anyone who enters the fort at night would not be able to return in the morning.
Legend
There are two legends that associate with the mystery behind the haunted fort of Bhangarh. One of the legends claims that there was a sage Baba Balanath who lived in the fort and he demanded that his house must never be touched by the shadow of another house. A prince defied this and built a palace which overshadowed the abode of the sage and thus, the sage cursed the town with mass deaths. Another legend says that the reason is love and romance. It was said that Singhiya, a tantric used to snare Princess of Bhangarh with black magic, which did not work. As a result of this, the tantric was sentenced to death and the magician cursed the town.
