History of Kasar Devi Temple Kasar Devi first gained prominence when Swami Vivekananda visited the place for meditation. He has even written about his experience in his diaries. Soon, a Danish mystic called Sunyata Baba (Alfred Sorenson) came to Kasar Devi and made it his home for 3 decades.
