Chambal River Safari The Chambal River Safari is the highlight of the sanctuary. The river safari is almost 3 hours long and is the best way to enjoy the view of the rare and endangered species. Chambal river is the lifeline of the forest and meanders its way across the three states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Boats with a seating capacity of few more than a dozen people are arranged by the Chambal Safari Lodge. These boats carry the people through the river, exploring the beautiful flora and fauna. Boats also have guides for the tourists. The endangered Gharial and Ganges River Dolphin are the major attractions of the sanctuary. Other inhabitants of the sanctuary include Muggar crocodile, Bengal Fox, Indian Grey Mongoose, Smooth-coated Otter, Striped Hyaena and Indian Wolf. Chambal is also home to 8 out of 26 rare turtle species found in India. The park is also a haven for many migratory birds.
