Main markets in Goa
Mapusa Market-It is a weekly market which takes place outside The Mapusa Municipal Market, North Goa. Every Friday many vendors from Bardez and Tiswadi put up stalls of local produce and sell it directly to people and small entrepreneurs. The Goans dressed in colourful clothes come and sell fruits, vegetables, pottery stuff, jewellery and clothes. Beach stuff like straw hats and swim suits etc. is widely available.
Anjuna Flea Market-It is a weekly market. It came into existence more than three decades ago when a few hippies started selling jewellery and clothing stuff for their bread and butter. But today the things are changed. Merchandise from all over India is imported and sold. It is heavily flocked by the tourists and local and is one of the most famous markets in Goa. Bargaining is at par and hence you might get good stuff at reasonable prices.
Calangute Market Square-The Calangute Beach is covered with innumerable shacks and stalls. You can get trinkets made of seashells as souvenirs over here. Metal, leather, clay items, accessories, textiles and carpets are the things which you will see hanging over the stalls.
Arpora Bazar-The Bazar takes place every Saturday night and serves with the most beautiful jewellery items. Embroidered textiles, carpets and tasty spices can be found here.
Mackie's Night Bazaar-It takes place between November and April on the banks of River Baga.There are hundreds of stalls offering food from multiple cuisines. Also, the market is famous for selling a wide range of souvenirs and gift items. It is located at one of the best places where the nightlife of Goa can be enjoyed.
