About Hanuman Garhi The picturesque location of the Hanuman Garhi Temple is known to all those who have admired the beauty of Nainital. The temple was constructed by a famous local saint, Baba Neem Karoli, in the year 1950. Legend has it that being a devout worshipper, Lord Hanuman had once ripped open his chest to reveal the image of Lord Rama and Sita Mata reigning in his heart. The same event is illustrated in the image at this temple. Adjacent to the temple stands a huge statue of Lord Hanuman, carrying a beautiful golden umbrella. The statue is seraphic in its appearance. Apart from the religious importance it holds, this place is also famous for its naturally perfect location that allows the visitors to witness a scenic vision of the sun gliding up and down the mountain.  Festivals Celebrated at Hanuman Garhi Being the land of Lord Rama, Ayodhya celebrates various Hindu festivals dedicated to both Ram and Hanuman.
