Best time to visit Phawngpui Peak
The peak is made accessible by the state of Mizoram only from November to April to avoid cluttering it with too much human footprint. The period is a great time for the trekkers as the route is usually dry and well marked out due to animal movements. The winters month can be cold so multiple layers are needed. The sights and sounds of the mountain are enhanced during this period providing you an ethereal experience.
How to Reach Phawngpui Peak
Air:Lingui airport in Aizawl is the only airport in the state and is connected to Guwahati and Kolkata. From the airport, Phawngpui peak is about 300 km and can be reached through hired taxis.
Rail:Nearest rail head to Aizawl is Silchar which 158 km away, Silchar is well connected to Guwahati Railway Station. From Silchar you can catch a bus or hire a Tata Sumo till Aizawl.
Road:Aizawl is 450 km from Guwahati by road and is connected by National Highways to the capital cities of other North-Eastern states as well. There are connecting buses and hired Tata Sumo which provide connectivity to the city. Upon reaching Aizawl you can hire a taxi for a day till Phawngpui National Park.
