Dry deciduous style of teak trees grows in abundance in the sanctuary along with foliage such as Terminalia, Pterocarpus or mukwa, bamboo, and madhuca to name a few. The sanctuary is also known for it being able to accommodate the biggest population of gaurs also known as the Indian bovid in the state. All sorts of birds find the sanctuary their breeding grounds and build their abode here. The forest becomes alive by the constant chirping of these birds. There is a huge reptilian population present in the sanctuary as well as a healthy count of python, krait, robber crocodilian, star and elapid snake.
